Psyched!

All right. It's only a little over 24 hours since Steamtown. More later, but I did want to let everyone know that not only did I finish, but I managed a personal best: 3:33:08, on the runner's chip! They tell me I placed 493rd out of 1,952 finishers, and 15th out of 110 in my age group. And Boston! That time qualifies me so that I can run the Boston Marathon. Now I have finished more marathons (3) than those in which I was forced to stop due to injury (2). Woo Hoo!!!

Way to go buddy. Very fast time for an old fella. Hope you get a good tail wind in Beantown. Drinking a very good Canadian beer in your honour. -Dun

Thanks for the toast, pal. (Steam Whistle? I broke my draft glass, maybe you can snag me one?) Plenty of time for thinking out there on the road, a mind drifting back to that first one, those hours of training, before we met and ran Ottawa together ...

Hoping to see you and the Ashman next month.

I'm up for inflicting ourselves on the Ash), if he is... as for Ottawa, that was humid... I remember so well because I lived in PEI at the time and spent so much time running hills in to the wind... none of which helped me in Ottawa, but we both finished (me in 3:56)... as for anyone else reading this, in 1981, I ran the Vancouver marathon as well and I finished in 3:54, in a solid cold drizzle, and at mile 25, I was ready to cash it in when ahead of me, some guy went eyes up in to the forehead and was taken out of the race and all I could think of, was poor bastard will wake up and know he didn't finish... well, that inspired me to complete, as aching as I was... in those days they gave you a beer as you crossed the finish line... that was the best beer I ever tasted... and, yes, today, I mostly drink Steam Whistle... we should get sponsorship out of this
